Whether you're ready to move beyond beginner projects or are an ambitious first-time student, this class provides the time and guidance to create a more substantial piece from start to finish.
Students will develop their own design while exploring composition, glass selection, structural planning, and the techniques that make larger panels both beautiful and durable. Designs may be submitted by email in advance for instructor feedback, or students may arrive with sketches & ideas to develop during class. Instruction includes cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, reinforcement, and finishing, with an emphasis on thoughtful craftsmanship and clean construction. Each panel will be finished in a structural metal border for added strength and a clean, professional appearance.
Expect a full weekend of hands-on studio work and leave with a finished panel ready to hang or frame!
Open to all experience levels. Pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Fume extractors and PPE will be provided in class for use during soldering.
No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
