Stained Glass Suncatchers
Tuition: $205 | Materials: $50
Popularized by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the late 1800s, the copper foil method revolutionized stained glass by making it possible to create intricate, highly detailed designs. More info...
Today, the copper foil method remains the most widely used technique for contemporary stained glass and is the perfect foundation for anyone interested in the craft.
Designed for both first-time students and returning makers, this workshop builds essential stained glass skills while offering a fresh project with each class. Beginners will gain a solid understanding of the complete copper foil process, while more experienced students can refine their technique and build confidence.
Kristin will guide students through every step of the process, including cutting, breaking, grinding, foiling, and soldering glass to create a finished suncatcher. Students may choose from a variety of provided patterns or design their own composition, then bring it to life using a wide selection of specialty glass. By the end of class, each student will leave with a unique, completed stained glass piece and the skills to continue creating on their own.
Open to all experience levels. Pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Fume extractors and PPE will be provided in class for use during soldering.
