Stained Glass Votives

Teacher: Kristin Culotta | Date: Thu, 04.15 , 5:30-9pm | Location: Pearl District Studio
Tuition: $140 | Materials: $30

Simple in form but full of creative possibility, this workshop, led by instructor Kristin Culotta, introduces students to the fundamentals of stained glass construction through a compact, functional project: glass votive holders. More info...

Students will build a clean, functional votive while learning to incorporate rolled or organic glass edges as an intentional design element. Instruction covers copper foil construction, decorative soldering technique, and a range of patina finishes, giving students several ways to personalize their work. The project is approachable at any skill level, with room for more detailed craftsmanship for students who want to push further; ambitious makers may have time to complete a second votive in class.

Students leave with one or more finished stained glass votives, along with a foundation in the core techniques of stained glass construction.

Open to all experience levels. Pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Fume extractors and PPE will be provided in class for use during soldering.

No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
