In this class, students will gain experience in textile patterning with resist methods and traditional Japanese patterning techniques, focusing on Arashi and Kumo (wrapping and binding) and Itajime (clamping and shaped resist). More info...
Learn folding, tying and binding techniques influenced by traditional and non-traditional methods. We’ll dip into a beginner-friendly indigo vat to create beautiful custom patterns on cotton textiles.
Students will leave with a variety of sample swatches and four patterned tea towels.
No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
