Filet Crochet

Using two simple crochet techniques, double crochet & chain stitch, students will create a small practice swatch using cotton yarn and crochet hooks, then move into their larger design, project sketching, and planning. Students will begin their chosen individual projects or designs, as well as learn finishing touches and what to expect when completing projects after the workshop. While open to beginners, it is preferred that students come to class familiar with how to do a chain stitch and a double crochet stitch. Filet crochet can be strenuous on hands & wrists and involves continuous counting. Ample break time will be offered, as well as stretches and strengthening techniques to avoid repetitive motion injury.
