Cait O’Mara

Cait O’Mara (b. 2002, Oregon) is a hand-weaver, dyer, and sculptor working with animal, plant, and synthetic fibers combined with industrial materials to work through ideas of value, construction, labor, ritual, and repetition. Using the technology of the loom as their primary guide, they utilize the grid to organize and hold memories of walks along rivers, time with birds, construction sites, and the moments between.

They received their BFA in Fibers with a secondary concentration in Sculpture (2025) from the University of Oregon College of Design and currently live and work in Portland, OR as a Studio and Administrative Assistant at WildCraft Studio School.
