Though often overlooked in art history, women at the Bauhaus school revolutionized textile design through their innovative approach to color, material, and form.

Explore the groundbreaking work of artists like Anni Albers, Gunta Stölzl, and Otti Berger as you create your own small woven piece on a simple frame loom. You'll learn basic weaving techniques including warping, tabby weave, and creating texture through various patterns and materials.

Students will get to take home the frame loom and weaving tools used in class, a completed weaving, and a newfound appreciation for these influential women who transformed a traditional craft into modern art, challenging gender norms and expanding the boundaries of textile design in the process.
