Most commonly known by the Indonesian name "Batik," wax resist dyeing has been practiced for hundreds of years by people across the globe. Join artist and designer Lindsey Fout, of Last Chance Textiles, to learn this ancient practice. Working with fiber reactive dyes, we will explore various wax application techniques and tools, with possible results ranging from intricate details, bold geometrics, to fields of abstract textures.

In this full day class, time will be given to practice techniques before creating an original single-color design to suit each individual’s vision. You will leave with a set of sample swatches and a finished 22” square of organic cotton. Your finished piece can be worn as a bandanna, hung in a window, or sewn into something of your choosing!
