Arielle Brackett, metalsmith and mixed media artist, joins us this season for a workshop focused on making brass and copper earrings! More info...

In this one-day class, students will explore a variety of metalsmith techniques, including hammering, sawing, hole punching, forging, and wire manipulation. Arielle will offer support through the design process, encouraging students to explore formal elements such as scale, shape and texture, while considering practical issues such as weight and wearability.

Students will work with sterling silver wire to make simple hook earring findings, and design their own earrings after practicing foundational metalworking skills. Participants will leave class with not just one, but two pairs of one-of-a-kind, handmade earrings!
