Beginning with a simple sampler, students will practice essential stitches such as the back stitch, stem stitch, satin stitch, chain stitch, and French knots—perfect tools for creating texture, patterns, and images.
A provided template will guide your practice, but you’ll also gain the skills and confidence to design your own patterns at home. By the end of the class, you will leave with a finished or in-progress embroidered piece as well as the know-how to continue stitching, personalizing, and exploring this heirloom craft.
Students are encouraged to bring fabrics and threads they love, or use materials provided in class, to make their sampler uniquely their own.
No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
