Teacher: Amy Belgan | Dates: Fri-Sun, 02.21-02.23 , Friday 6:30-9:30pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am-4pm | Location: North Mississippi ANNEX
Tuition: $290 | Materials: $10

Tapestry weaving is a hand-manipulated technique used by weavers as a way to “draw with yarn”. More info...

Unlike the types of weaving made on floor or table-top looms, tapestry weaving doesn’t confine the weaver to repeating patterns, but rather offers the opportunity to create pictorial imagery and geometric motifs in woven-form.

WildCraft instructor, Amy Belgan brings a painterly approach to weaving, and in this 2.5 day intro course will instruct beginning students in the basic techniques of tapestry weaving focusing on stripes and geometric shapes. Amy will provide copper looms for students to create a sampler of techniques. She will instruct on the essentials of warping, weave techniques, methods for shape-making, how to fix common mistakes and how to finish a weaving.

Students who are excited to keep weaving beyond class will have the option to purchase the copper looms used in this workshop!
