Hand-Felted Ornaments

The Duchess of Felt, LeBrie Rich joins us from PenFelt Studio for this charming holiday workshop. This workshop is a great introduction to both needle felting and wet felting, giving students an introduction to the two primary methods of transforming wool roving into a dense, 3D material. The workshop will begin with a lesson on sculpting with a felting needle, layering up stripes and dots with wool. Students will then transition to wet felting, experiencing the magic of seeing and feeling the fibers shrink in warm, soapy water. These ornaments will feature a solid wool core, and are a great way to re-use or up-cycle old materials! Class will allow time for you to make 2-3 ornaments.
