Tuition: $150 | Materials: $20
Only 2 Spots Available

Designed around the idea of a ‘field study’ this one-day workshop will provide students with an introduction to the practice of illustration, or simple line drawing. More info...

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Luscher Farm, students will practice drawing as a form of translation - considering questions of what to record, what to simplify, reiterate, or leave out entirely. Artist and educator Elizabeth Arzani will guide the class in using contour line drawing and mark making techniques to study subjects in an environment - drawing connections, tracing forms and training their eyes and hands to collaborate, with the goal of observing surroundings and capturing the essence of place in pen and paper. Students will practice on-site recording, responding and visual note-taking. Can lines depict more than physical details? Can they convey a mood? Tell a story? Perhaps express a new way of seeing? Join this unique drawing workshop to find out!

Students will be sent a materials list upon registering. All other supplies will be provided.
