Allison Alford

My name is Allison Alford and as an artist, I love, practice and learn everyday about plants, ceramics and natural dyeing. I’m particularly interested in the intersection of my love of Oregon native plants, wildlife and art. I graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts from Claremont Graduate University and in 2018 started Next of Kin Studio, now known as, Kuma Uma, with my partner. We are a small studio particularly passionate about cats, wildlife and art. I’ve gained so much from my relationship with the natural world so as an artist is important for me to explore how to give back through what I make. My practice in ceramics and natural dyeing stems from this relationship.
