Pulp + Deckle Studio

Founded in 2012, Jenn Woodward and Gary Hanson are the team behind Pulp + Deckle, a hand papermaking studio that offers workshops, demos, lectures, custom orders, retail goods and an artist in residence program. We provide artists and paper enthusiasts with technical expertise and access to a pop-up outdoor hand papermaking studio. Our mobile studio trailer houses our 12-ton Hydraulic Papermaking Press and other equipment allowing us to teach outdoors in collaboration with education teams such as METRO, Rewild Portland, and OMSI. The studio's goal is to share the art, science, craft, and history of hand papermaking via joyful paper experiences. Our home base in Oregon City is a 1 acre forested site with seasonal views of the Willamette River and Falls.
