Kate Heywood

If you’ve taken a workshop with us in recent years, you’ve seen Kate in more than a few roles. Intern, Studio Assistant, Offsite Assistant, Studio Manager and now Studio Director and Staff Teacher. With a background in education and a love for the outdoors, assisting with the variety of the workshops WildCraft offers has allowed her to grow her passion for craft education and place-based experiences. 

Her love of learning about mycology and foraging was sparked with her first season with WildCraft while assisting alongside Rachel Zoller of Yellow Elanor on many forays into the forest and has continued from then on. 

Kate instructs a variety of topics with WildCraft, including Suminagashi, Natural Dyes, Rag Rug Braiding, Textile Marbling, fall Mushroom Foraging and more!
