Elizabeth Malaska

Elizabeth Malaska was born and raised in Portland, OR. Before graduating with her BFA from California College of the Arts in San Francisco, her self-directed studies took her from Rome to rural Maine.  She earned her MFA in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, OR in 2011, and has exhibited her work at Portland Community College, Froelick Gallery (OR), California College of the Arts (SF), and College of the Atlantic (ME), among other venues. She was named a 2021 Guggenheim Fellow, and is the recipient of a Painter’s and Sculptor’s Grant from the Joan Mitchell Foundation, the Hallie Ford Fellowship from The Ford Family Foundation, and a grant from the Elizabeth Greenshield’s Foundation. Her work is part of the permanent collection at The Portland Art Museum, the Schneider Museum (Ashland) and The Hallie Ford Museum (Salem). Elizabeth lives in Portland and is represented by Russo Lee Gallery.
