Tuition: $165 | Materials: $25

New to weaving and looking to start small? Curious about weaving without a loom? Feel confident with the basics of weaving and ready to strengthen your knowledge of structure and pattern? This class has a little something for everyone! More info...

Textile artist and educator Hannah Watson will guide students through a series of traditional weaving patterns. The first half of the day will be spent working with paper weaving to understand and practice the structure of houndstooth, twill, and canvas weaving techniques.

In the second half of the day students will select one pattern to weave off-loom, working with small wooden panels, a needle and linen thread in a variety of colors. Students will create beautiful pattern swatches that can stand alone as paper and textile artworks, and serve as useful reference examples for future projects.

This class is open to beginners, and great for those with some weaving experience.
