Before the studio becomes a kaleidoscope of colors and patterns, students will be introduced to how to prepare fabric for marbling and mix a vat of methocel-based marbling gel. Artist and textile designer Jorie Garcia will guide students through this mesmerizing process while sharing material tips along the way.
Students will have the opportunity to test colors and patterns on a small scale with numerous cotton and silk fabric swatches before moving forward to create a large-scale finished piece. Composition, balance, color, and shape will all be points of experimentation in the marbling process.

No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
