Professional metalsmith and artist, Arielle Brackett will introduce students to the basics of metalsmithing, beginning with the design process. 

Students will sketch ideas for an adjustable or overlapping ring, working through issues of layout, pattern and size. Arielle will demonstrate how to transfer a design to silver, and safe practices for cutting the form using a saw frame. With attention to detail, students will learn to file and sand their designs, lastly shaping their rings on a mandrel.

No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
