Winter Wreaths (Saturday 9am-12pm) with Erin Riddle
Location: Portland Studio
Teacher: Erin Riddle
Availability: 12 open
What better way to celebrate the winter season than with a gorgeous handcrafted wreath! Join local floral designer, Erin Riddle, of @TheForagedWreath to learn the fundamentals of wreath-making, including how to select and pair materials for unique results. This 3-hour workshop is a chance to take your own personal style and bring it to life in wreath form, whether it's whimsical, big and bold, tailored, or minimalist.
Select from a variety of fresh and dried greens, herbs, berries, seeds, cones, branches and other natural elements - many locally-grown and foraged. Students will be encouraged to explore the texture, color, scent, and shape of the materials provided as they design their wreath, meanwhile learning which popular wreath materials can be found or foraged locally in the Pacific Northwest. You will receive a wire wreath frame, floral wire and floral tape to assemble your wreath. We'll also have branches on hand if you want to learn how to weave your own natural wreath base. And finally, to make your design extra special, we encourage you to bring your own foraged materials to the class, as well as your favorite ribbon or twine for hanging or decor. Join us and take home a wreath that is your very own work of art!
All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite florals or ribbon to class.
