Wild Foods Cooking & Preservation with Lorelle Sherman

Are you looking for ways to utilize more wild foods in the kitchen? Wild foods can be prepared to make gourmet meals, nutritional additives, and medicinal teas and infusions. Lorelle will sustainably gather local wild foods to be sampled, pickled, fermented, dehydrated, sautéed, and more! A major focus of this class will be the utilization of invasive species, as well as the sustainable and ethical harvest of native wild edibles. The species gathered will depend on what's available, but may include fern fiddleheads, blossoms, mushrooms, wild greens and herbs. Students will leave class with a new knowledge of cooking and preservation techniques for native and invasive wild edibles and also with some treats to take home!
