As the interior design professionals say on repeat, “It’s all about the lighting.” More info...

We’re raising them one this season and making the claim that it’s all about the handmade lighting! One of our beloved basketry teachers, Brittany Stanton, has turned her weaving skills to pendant lampshades, and created this fantastic 1-day class with an incredible takeaway. In this hands-on class, students will be introduced to specialized basketry techniques for lampshade construction, including the tools and materials used in the process. Students will learn how to prepare rattan reed, create a sturdy circular base, and develop intricate weaving patterns that allow light to dance through your custom design.

This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in learning a new skill, expressing their creativity, and crafting a unique lighting accessory that reflects personal artistic vision. Students will leave with one completed rattan lamp shade, complete with pendant hardware, ready to install!
