Summer Medicine Making with Talia Hammond
Teacher: Talia Hammond
Dry heat, unrelenting sun and a social calendar that just won’t stop: summer demands a level of energy many of us can’t seem to sustain. Self-care is essential to summer wellness, and this class offers the chance to slow down, and learn about what’s happening internally and externally in this season. Talia’s lessons will focus on herbal remedies that support healthy gut balance, exploring herbs that can help stimulate digestion, alleviate intestinal cramping, and promote healthy microbiomes. Students will create bitters, chews and other plant-based medicines to take home, and will learn how to incorporate season-specific herbal remedies into everyday life. Class will take place on Talia’s farm, offering students a wonderful opportunity to harvest sustainably from the farm, while learning about cultivation techniques and gardening tips.
This workshop takes place offsite, on a working herb farm 15 minutes from the town of White Salmon, WA. The address of Jean Marie's Farm will be provided when you register. This workshop is ideal for folks who like to be outside, and will be held rain or shine.
