Beginning Weaving: 4-Week Intensive. (April) with Jessica Bardsley
Time: 6:30-9:30pm Tuesday evenings
Location: Portland Studio
Teacher: Jessica Bardsley
During this evening weaving series, you will learn the basics of weaving on a rigid heddle loom. This is a great beginner’s loom that provides a complete weaving experience, while teaching skills and techniques that are transferable to other types of looms, including larger floor looms. Sessions will cover the foundations of weaving - terminology, how to plan a basic project, how to warp your loom, and basic weaving structures and techniques. Evenings in the studio will be spent on demos and with plenty of hands-on weaving time. Students will also be welcomed into the studio during staffed weekends (10am-4pm) during April to work on their weaving projects.
Looms and all materials are provided by WildCraft. The loom featured in this photo belongs to the instructor, and though it is the same type of loom you will be using in class, it is not the same make & model.
No previous experience necessary. Open to students 16 & up.
