Using environmentally-friendly, water-based inks of various colors, artist Katherine McDowell will guide students through experimentations in abstract image-making. Texture, shape, color and pattern: elements students will explore in this 1-day workshop. Using simple tools and materials such as ink, plexiglass plates and a hand-cranked press, students will experiment with numerous compositions on paper. Monotypes are an expressive way to make abstract painterly prints: fun for the beginner and advanced printmaker alike.
