Late Season Coastal Mushroom Hunt (Oct 18) with Tiffany Garner
Teacher: Tiffany Garner
As the Fall season draws to a close, dedicated foragers know that edible mushrooms are still hiding in the lower mountain and coastal areas, where the temperatures are not quite freezing. There are many interesting mushrooms that pop up in the fall and some of them like to hide so you’ll learn a lot about Shrumps in this forage! As with all our mushroom forages, we can never guarantee a full basket or even one edible. What we can guarantee is a meaningful learning experience and the opportunity to improve your identification skills. Join us for one of our last forages of the season, no experience required. Tiffany participated in WildCraft’s 2019 Mycology Teacher Training, guided by Rachel Zoller of Yellow Elanor.
This workshop is open to all adults 16 yrs & over, who are prepared to hike all day (rain or shine) on uneven terrain, off-trail. This is not a suitable workshop for those with health conditions that may be triggered by hiking, carrying a backpack, or being outside for 5+ hours in variable weather conditions. Finding morels or other edible mushrooms is not guaranteed. A high level of education, however, is guaranteed! Please leave dogs at home. No previous experience necessary. A detailed packing list is included in the confirmation email, and info about our foraging location will be provided 1 week prior to the trip.
Please take a look at our updated cancellation policy.
