Kitchen Sink Dyes with Megan Mesloh
Location: SE Division Studio
Teacher: Megan Mesloh
Availability: 14 open
Avocado peels, onion skins, and wilted greens are more than compost! Join us for a tour through the pantry, fridge and spice rack, searching for color in your everyday kitchen. For those interested in reducing waste, repurposing old textiles or exploring natural dyes safely, this is the workshop for you. Students will be guided through preparing plant and animal fibers (cotton, wool, silk) with non-toxic mordants, and preparing food scraps and common pantry items for the dye bath. Students will leave with 2 finished textiles and a swatch book.
No previous experience necessary.
