From the majestic windows of European cathedrals, to collectors’ objects such as Tiffany Lamps, stained glass work has been a revered craft for hundreds of years. We’re excited to continue this practice with a contemporary interpretation to the art of stained glass led by artist, Kim Lewis. This workshop is designed as an in-depth introduction for beginning students – a fantastic way to learn the basics and leave with a finished piece and the skills to continue!
Kim will guide students through specialized tools and processes, including how to break, grind and solder glass to create perfectly joined pieces. Class will focus on the creation of suncatchers from a selection of designs, using the copper foil method and a wide selection of colored and textured glass, allowing each student to make a truly one-of-a-kind piece.
