Kirsten will guide the group through the fundamentals of traditional sign painting - touching on the basics of block letter construction, brushstroke & brush lettering technique, and sign layout. Kirsten will also cover the basics of color theory and how to create decorative elements. Students will leave the workshop with a custom sign, as well as a foundational understanding of all the elements that go into hand painted signage!
Please bring a specific word or phrase (3 words maximum) you'd like to use on your custom sign. Students will be asked to bring their own respirator for paint fumes and should expect to be on their feet for the majority of the class duration. All materials provided. No experience necessary.
This workshop is held at WildCraft's ANNEX studio, located at 707 NE Broadway #203. The studio is located on the 2nd floor and is, unfortunately, not ADA accessible.
No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops. All participants must accept the inherent risks of participating in a Studio Workshop and agree to sign a liability waiver.
