With honor and gratitude, we welcome Celeste Whitewolf for a one-day workshop introducing students to the art and tradition of weaving with cedar. Students will learn to use a jerry stripper, to cut, split and peel soaked cedar bark into workable material. Celeste will teach students a “plaited start”, offering instruction on twining and demonstrating various finishing techniques including “simple cut”, “loop over” and “ woven”. Students will leave with a finished cedar basket, at least 4 inches square.
Students are asked to bring their own small, sharp knife.

No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
