Intermediate Darning: Repairing with Pattern

Have you mastered the basics of woven darning and feel curious to learn new methods of repairing your favorite sweaters, hats and scarfs? Take your skills to the next level in this intermediate workshop focused on how to darn with new patterns, shapes, and techniques. More info...

Students will gather in the classroom, surrounded by yarn and knitted garments in various states of disrepair, to learn more advanced skills for embellishment and mending. Techniques covered will include how to repair holes using duplicate stitch, how to vary your pattern with twill, plaids and chevrons, and how to darn in a variety of shapes.
Students will leave class with several new ideas for repairing, embellishing and extending the life of beloved clothing and textile pieces.
An understanding of basic woven darning is a necessary prerequisite to this workshop.
No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
