WildCraft is pleased to partner with Nola Clay, a local artist-run teaching studio, to offer this three-hour introduction to handbuilding for tableware! More info...

The experienced instructors at Nola Clay will guide students through the process of crafting a handmade set of small to medium sized side plates using pinching, coiling, and slab construction techniques. Students will gain a basic understanding of working with clay – with lessons and information on handbuilding, decoration, surface embellishment, drying stages, shrinkage, glazing and firing processes. In addition to this wealth of information, students will create a unique set of 3 plates and can choose from a selection of beautiful glaze finishes to complete their pieces.

Due to the time needed to dry greenware, Nola Clay studio staff will trim, glaze and fire the work. Students will be able to pick up finished work within three weeks. No experience required. Materials fees cover the creation of up to 3 pieces, if additional pieces are made during the workshop, staff can assess an appropriate fee.

This workshop takes place at Nola Clay studio in inner NE Portland.
