Color Study Club: Natural Pigments
Tuition: $100 |
Working with color from plants and minerals can be as bewildering as it is thrilling. Carolyn Sweeney of Strata Ink is hosting monthly study sessions where students can share their experiments, discoveries, and questions. More info...

Botanical inks, lake pigments, mineral pigments, charcoal- all are welcome here. Students are not required to do any work outside of club meetings, but everyone will have a chance to update the group on their ongoing explorations during each session. Bring your swatches, samples, and vials of color to class. This class is most suited to students who have some experience working with natural color, whether from taking a class with WildCraft or doing your own experimenting at home. Expect to leave with your head full of ideas for new ways to work with natural color.
This group will meet once per month, on the second Thursday of the month. The meeting dates are March 9, April 13, May 11, and June 8.
Unlike a traditional workshop, Color Study Club will not offer any hands-on instruction or demonstrations. This is a space dedicated to conversation and sharing of work and experiments created outside of Club hours.
This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
