Join artist and educator Isaac Weiss to learn the fundamentals of composition! More info...

Whether you are a painter or an illustrator, this class will be useful for the development of your work. Classically trained in studio art, Isaac will share the essential skills of how to consider composition as you visually construct a drawing. Students will learn traditional composition strategies, and how to thoughtfully approach the best use of your page. No corner will go unconsidered! Through a series of exercises, students will gain a practical understanding of how to create compelling compositions. Emphasis will be placed on developing visual literacy, and an understanding of the relationships between elements in a composition. Come away from this class ready to approach the blank page with confidence!

Students will be sent a materials list of drawing tools upon registering. All other materials will be supplied.

Pair this workshop with Painting Basics: Color Theory, and spend the whole weekend honing your 2D skills!

This workshop is held at WildCraft's ANNEX studio, located at 707 NE Broadway #203. The studio is located on the 2nd floor and is, unfortunately, not ADA accessible.

No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops. All participants must accept the inherent risks of participating in a Studio Workshop and agree to sign a liability waiver.
