Drawing with Wool: Crewel Embroidery with Emily Baier
Location: Portland Studio
Teacher: Emily Baier
In this workshop, students will create a one-of-a-kind sampler using crewel embroidery techniques. Crewel embroidery is a form of free embroidery where one “paints” with their stitches using wool yarn. As you work towards filling large areas of stitches to make a dense, textured design, students will learn basic and more advanced techniques. You can use one of several provided patterns or create your own. Each student will end the workshop with an embroidered panel that can be turned into a pillow, or framed as a wall hanging.
No previous experience necessary. Open to students 16 & up.
