Outdoor enthusiasts! Natural history buffs! Hotspring lovers! Rockhounding Mamas and Papas!
Join us for a weekend expedition to the Oregon/Nevada borderlands, where we'll dive into the geology of the Great Basin desert. We'll hunt for sunstones in Oregon's Warner Valley, search for petroglyphs and hot springs, and collect obsidian and petrified wood in Nevada's Virgin Valley. We'll plan to camp at hot springs both nights, with a healthy and delicious dinner served tent-side by our camp chef. Trip leader Alison Jean Cole considers this region to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Open to adults over the age of 21. Students are responsible for bringing tents and camping gear. Dinner is provided on Saturday & Sunday. All other meals are the responsibility of each student.
