Seaweed, Shells and Specimens: Coastal Illustration with Serena Richelle
Teacher: Serena Richelle
Availability: 1 open
There are few places better to spend a July day than at the Oregon Coast! Join us for a day of beachcombing, tidepooling and documenting the gorgeous, natural specimens we find along the way. In this field sketching course, scientific illustrator and artist, Serena Richelle will guide students through field sketching techniques, using watercolor and colored pencil. The group will spend the day illustrating tidepool creatures, seaweed and other marine life, while practicing leave-no-trace principles. Serena will demonstrate techniques such as glazing with watercolor, while offering tips for capturing accurate proportions. Students will apply these new skills to illustrate specimens found in tidepools and along the shoreline, creating a collection of drawings and watercolors. This workshop takes place near Cannon Beach, OR.
