Collage: Chance & Choice
Tuition: $155 | Materials: $25
Join interdisciplinary artist and educator, Elizabeth Arzani, for a one-day workshop that combines formal design elements with exercises in chance and experimentation. More info...
Touching on the history of collage and its connection to still life and "the everyday", we will use found and collected materials, transforming items such as: mail, packaging, magazines, cardboard, with marks made by our own hands. This workshop emphasizes starting where you are and repurposing tools and materials in new and unexpected ways.
Elizabeth will demonstrate additive and subtractive techniques for layering color and creating actual and implied textures using processes of drawing, painting, cutting, cropping, rotating, and reassembling to arrange abstract compositions. Each participant will leave class with an array of techniques, materials, and a finished work of art.
No previous experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
