Botanical Inks: From Blossom to Bottle with Carolyn Sweeney

WildCraft is pleased to host Carolyn Sweeney of Strata Ink for a one day intensive focused on botanically-derived inks. Carolyn will discuss the principles and practices of safe, seasonal and sustainable harvesting. Students will spend the day in the studio learning how to extract pigment from local plants. Carolyn will cover various methods of ink making, discussing the lightfastness and longevity, ratios, proportions and recipes. Students will take home a set of botanical inks and swatches of all the colors created by the group.
No previous experience necessary. This workshop is held at WildCraft's ANNEX studio, located at 707 NE Broadway #203. The studio is located on the 2nd floor and is, unfortunately, not ADA accessible.
This workshop is open to anyone 18 years old & over who meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria for Studio Workshops.
